W&LLR No.2 'The Countess'

W&LLR No.2 'The Countess' is the second of the Beyer Peacock built and Swindon modified 0-6-0 tanks to operate on the railway back in 1902. The Lempor was fitted in 1993.

No.2 Countess during the fitting of the Lempor exhuast system. Note the downward chimney extension. No.2 as finished. The split mixing chamner to allow fo the vacuum ejector exhaust is not ideal.

In 2003 No.2 now appears in GWR guise at 823 'Countess'. The GWR dropped 'The' from the locomotive's name. August 14 2003
