Mount Washington Cog Railway

These photographs and video clips are included to give an idea of the line and its' locomotives, which it has to be said are fairly primitive beasts.

All uncredited photos have come via Nigel.

Very interestingly the sectioned chassis includes a sectioned cylinder which clearly shows the fairly appalling ports and passages. Not quite a Porta would have wished them to be! March 17 2005. © John Johnston

Winter 2004/2005 was the first time the railway had run a winter service. A ski run, seen here to the right of the railway, was setup as an attraction. Here No.2 can be seen awaiting the next uphill turn. March 17 2005. © John Johnston

There's a train up there - the fact being given away by the smoke produced! In the not too distant future such displays of incomplete combustion should have been consigned to history. Winter 2004/2005 was the first time the railway had run a winter service. March 17 2005. © John Johnston
