By Lauterbrunnen the weather had deteriorated ! Here 1067 runs round. On the right is a container destined for Wengen, via the Wengernalpbahn. Wengen can only be accessed by rail so all supplies have to come in by train. October 5 2003

The train returned to Interlaken then disappeared off to the depot again. There was a little wait for the next bit of action for the day. This was for 1067 to take us, and many other participants in the 'First World Steam & Tourist Train Congress' to Brienz. At Interlaken Ost we met up with Alan & Carolyn Fozard and David Smith thus completing the 5AT team !

As darkness fell 1067 made a spirited run out to Brienz from where a fleet of taxis and mini-buses ferried participants to the 'Grandhotel Giessbach' where the conference was to be held and where we were all staying.

Once settled in we all headed down for the first of several very good meals which of course presented us with the opportunity to meet many other interesting attendees and to put across our case for the 5AT !
